Badges

If your questions and answers are highly voted, your contribution to this Q&A community will be recognized with the variety of badges.
Currently badges differ only by their level: WhiteHat, BlackHat, GreyHat and hacktivist (their meanings are described on the right). In the future there will be other badges at each level. Please give us your feedback - what kinds of badges would you like to see and suggest the activity for which those badges might be awarded.

 WhiteHat

The white hat badge is one of the two highest badges awarded in this community. To obtain it you have to show profound knowledge and ability in addition to your active participation while pursuing the good in technology.

 BlackHat

The black hat badge is the other of the two highest badges awarded in this community. To obtain it you have to show profound knowledge and ability in addition to your active participation while pursuing technology that may sometimes cross the line. Hey, who are we to judge?

 GreyHat

Obtaining a grey hat badge requires significant patience. If you have received one, that means you have greatly contributed to this community. While you have incredible skill and a high participation level you still have not made it clear what side of the line you will walk on long term.

 hacktivist

If you are an active participant in the Engage community and show the technical ability to resolve other users questions, you will be recognized with this badge.
